Record Breaking News!!!!!

Want to participate in breaking a Guiness World  Record and fight extreme poverty? Then come to the Stand Up Event at  Escondido City Hall (corner of Valley Parkway and Broadway) at 5:30 PM on Tuesday October 16th.

Haven’t heard of Stand Up?  Stand Up is the growing global movement of people no longer prepared to remain seated or silent in the face of extreme poverty and inequality.  Last  year, on October 17th 2006, more than 23 million people in 87 countries stood up and spoke out against poverty.  Thanks to the participation of people from all walks of life: schools and universities, local community groups, choirs, sporting clubs, faith groups, trade unions, corporations and compassionate citizens, Stand Up and Speak Out 2006 was the largest single coordinated mobilization in the history of the Guiness World Records.  This year we plan on breaking the record again.

On Tuesday October 24th, during a 24 period, groups of people all over the world will stand and attempt to break the Guiness world record for the number of people standing up against poverty.  Christians Ending Poverty, under the coordination of Valley Center resident Su Kraus, is inviting all North County Stand Up participants to come together to Escondido City Hall and be counted as one.  For more information visit www.standagainstpoverty.org.  Please join us, be counted, participate in the world record attempt and let others know that you care about those struggling to overcome extreme poverty.
