8/26 off (Sunday)

Today is our anniversary (13 years)! It was also our youngest son’s 2nd day of Kindergarten. Just thought I’d pass this important info along.

OK, on to my hour log. Since taking up this hour-a-day challenge I am always looking for opportunities to be a voice for the oppressed, the orphan and those suffering from extreme poverty. Today I had such an opportunity just when I wasn’t looking for it. After dropping our youngest off at his class, I ran into an acquaintance who is a local youth pastor. (He has a very large youth group.) We began catching up on general items when for some unforeseen (preordained?) reason, a swarm of gnats began attacking me in force. Not a single bug was anywhere near my pastor friend. He laughed and mentioned that the same thing had happened to him in Africa this summer when he and his youth group… Now, had he known who he was dealing with, he might not have mentioned this juicy little piece of information. Well, I’m sure you can guess how it went from there. He got the pitch and we’re tying to schedule a lunch in the near future. Cool stuff.
