How I spent my hour today:

I received a call back from one of the churches I contacted yesterday! The pastor there was very open to several ideas. He agreed to help promote our alternative Christmas market, to do an offering of letters this year (which they did last year) and to possibly host a JustFaith group. JustFaith is a thirty-week adult formation program offering an opportunity for participants to experience a “spiritual journey into compassion”. I’ll be posting more info about it in the near future. We’re planning to have lunch in the coming weeks to nail down details.
Time spent: 20 minutes

Checking feeds, read an article titled, biofuels will help fight hunger
Time spent: 15 minutes

Book research – checked Amazon for books addressing issues of poverty. Read books descriptions and reviews, made a list of books I’d like to review on HourChallenge
Time spent: 20 minutes

Read a chapter in Brian McLaren’s new book Everything Must Change (due out in October) with Crissy.
Time Spent: 20 minutes

And, of course, blog posting, which I’m not sure I’ll count anymore unless I’m running low on time. :)

    Loving the blog so far!

I think blog posting could be part of the hour a day. But sometimes it takes a good hour to work up a longer post. Even so, the blog you are doing is a big piece of your hour challenge, so you should at least count some of the time.

I’m really enjoying your updates so far. They are very encouraging. Once I move I’ll start doing similar things like contacting churches and writing opinion pieces.
